DraftKings Hires Ezra Kucharz As Chief Business Officer

CBS Veteran Brings 20 Years of Experience in Digital Media to Focus on Growing DraftKings’ Content and New Business Revenue Streams

DraftKings Skill for Alexa to Provide Real-Time and Historical DraftKings’ Stats for NFL

 BOSTON, Mass., September 28, 2017 – DraftKings, Inc., the leading global daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, today announced its first integration with Amazon’s Alexa. DraftKings Skill for Alexa, “Ask DraftKings,” is a free DFS-oriented service to be offered this NFL season. The DraftKings Skill for Alexa will now bring real-time and historical DraftKings’ fantasy stats to millions of sports fans’ homes through Amazon’s voice service.

Through this integration, customers in the US and UK can ask DraftKings Skill for Alexa questions about specific players including DraftKings fantasy points earned, touchdowns scored, net yards and overall stats both in real time and historically. To receive information on an athlete, customers can enable the DraftKings Skill for Alexa and follow it with a player’s name by saying, “Alexa, Launch DraftKings. Tom Brady.” Alternatively, customers can simply ask, “Alexa, how many points does Tom Brady have?” If interested to hear an athlete’s DraftKings’ fantasy score from a specific week, customers must say “Ask DraftKings” followed by the player’s name and the given week, such as, “Alexa, how many points did Tom Brady earn in week 7 of the 2016 – 2017 season?”

In addition to fantasy football, “Ask DraftKings” will be expanding into new international markets and offer specific DFS relevant information on athletes for all 10 sports that DraftKings offers.

DRAFTKINGS KICKS OFF NFL SEASON WITH ONE BILLION DOLLAR LINEUP CHALLENGE

BOSTON, Mass., August 14, 2017 – DraftKings, Inc. today announced the start of the 2017-2018 NFL season for daily fantasy football with a ground-breaking “Billion Dollar Lineup” challenge. Beginning August 14, DraftKings’ Billion Dollar Lineup game gives football fans an opportunity to win $1 billion in the first week of NFL matchups by building the perfect fantasy lineup.

What has been announced?

Today we executed a termination agreement with FanDuel and will withdraw litigation from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This formally marks the end of our attempt to merge with FanDuel. We believe it is in the best interests of DraftKings, our customers, and our employees to move on from our original plans to merge, and instead, continue to put all of our energy into growing as a standalone company.

Are DraftKings and FanDuel still planning on merging at some point?

No. We prefer to continue focusing our energy on building our already strong business here at DraftKings, so that we can be of better service to our customers and partners.

Since we began planning for a possible merger, DraftKings has become the world’s leading fantasy sports company. We are recognized as a global sports entertainment brand and the industry leader in utilizing technology to bring our customers the best fantasy contests and products, and we will move forward as a separate company.

What does this mean for me as a DraftKings customer?

Business will continue as usual. DraftKings will continue to operate as an independent entity from FanDuel. Players will be able to use their funds to enter contests as they normally do and the high-quality service you are accustomed to will continue, uninterrupted.

Malta Gaming Authority Issues Controlled Skill Games License to DraftKings;
Malta License Allows for Operation in Additional European Countries

VALLETTA, Malta, (January 30, 2017)– DraftKings, the world’s largest skill-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, today announced that they have been granted a Controlled Skill Games License from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) which will enable the company to operate in additional European countries. This announcement follows the MGA’s recent introduction of a new regulatory regime for games of skill. Under this license DraftKings intends to begin offering DFS contests in Malta and other markets later in the first quarter of 2017.

“Malta’s intention to regulate digital skill games with a prize was first announced in December 2014 when the MGA published a consultation document. From then onwards, the MGA sought the input of various industry stakeholders and experts in order to develop a framework which facilitates the development of the sector, while ensuring adequate protection for players and fairness of the games”, said Joseph Cuschieri, Executive Chairman of the Malta Gaming Authority.

DraftKings’ announcement comes nearly a year after it began successfully operating in the United Kingdom. With more than seven million registered players worldwide, DraftKings has experienced significant growth since its 2012 inception.

DraftKings And FanDuel Agree To Strategic Merger Of Equals

Merger allows for greater investment in growth opportunities and an accelerated path to profitability

New York and Boston – Fantasy sports technology companies DraftKings and FanDuel today announced they have entered into a merger agreement. The transaction is expected to close in 2017. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The merger of FanDuel and DraftKings, which offer daily, weekly and season-long sports fantasy contests, will bring together two fantasy sports innovators to better serve consumers. The operational efficiencies and cost savings that are expected to result from the merger will drive a greater focus on developing new products and features, including more variety in contest formats, loyalty programs, enhanced social functionality and ancillary sports-oriented content and experiences, all aimed at creating a more diverse, exciting and appealing experience for fantasy sports players and all sports fans. The merger will also help the combined company accelerate its path to profitability.

The combined company will be able to invest in strategic partnerships across the sports ecosystem. Media, advertising and other partners will benefit from access to more products and customers as a result of DraftKings and FanDuel’s diverse user base and league relationships, as well as increased investment in advertising. Together, the combined entity can accelerate growth of the fantasy sports category, drive broader and deeper fan engagement, and more efficiently reach those players.

The company will be co-headquartered in New York and Boston.

Would the combined company have the power to substantially raise prices?

No. We intend to keep our commission fees and structure competitive in order to offer consumers a compelling experience. The merger will not affect our obvious incentive to continue growing the DFS space through guaranteed prize pools and attractive commission levels. Users play on our platforms because they love the contest structures and optionality. We size our contests and offerings to be competitive with other fantasy companies. We know that there are other platforms players could go on if we tried to raise commissions. This remains equally true whether the companies remain independent or combine.

As always, DraftKings and FanDuel will clearly provide information on commission costs and technical differences. Further operational and organizational details will be finalized and announced after closing.
