BOSTON (September 18, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. announced today that it is expanding its Tech for Heroes initiative to Austin, Texas. The eight-week course, beginning October 9 and offered free of charge, is designed to provide high-tech job skills training to current and returning veterans and military spouses, so they can expand their knowledge base and find gainful employment in the tech sector.

DraftKings Eyes English Premier League Season After Epic World Cup

Fans Across the Globe Submitted Nearly 11 Million Entries During Quadrennial Tournament

BOSTON, MA (August 10, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. welcomes the English Premier League (EPL) back to its platform after an epic World Cup performance that saw international customers account for nearly a quarter of the company’s entries during the tournament.

“The World Cup gave us the opportunity to reach soccer fans, globally, in a new and exciting way,” said Jeffrey Haas, DraftKings’ Chief International Officer. “As we now turn our attention to the start of the EPL season, we plan to carry over this momentum and broaden our international audience engagement even further.”

In the span of the World Cup, DraftKings received nearly 11 million entries from hundreds of thousands of customers globally, who collectively accounted for nearly $10 million in winnings. Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany represented the top countries outside the United States for total entry submissions, with the UK earning the highest value of payouts internationally at over $2 million.

Soccer’s grandest global spectacle shone a light on DraftKings’ offerings surrounding the sport, which continues to be a key business driver abroad. This year’s World Cup also featured more EPL players (106) than any other domestic league in the world1, so fans who watched the games and played DraftKings contests were provided a preview of Premier League players who could be daily fantasy stars when the season begins today.

In addition to the Classic mode salary cap format, which consists of building eight-player lineups from at least three different teams and representing a minimum of two separate matches, this season’s EPL contests on DraftKings will also feature Showdown for single-game matchups. Showdown, DraftKings’ newest fantasy game, works by having fans construct lineups of six flex players, and must feature at least one player from both teams, regardless of position. For soccer fans who want to organize their own private EPL contests of Classic or Showdown, DraftKings Leagues is also available throughout the entire season.

DraftKings Begins New Era With Official Launch of Sportsbook In New Jersey

First to Market in Mobile and Online Sports Betting

BOSTON (August 6, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. announced today the launch of DraftKings Sportsbook, becoming the first company to offer legal online and mobile sports betting in New Jersey. As the world’s largest daily fantasy sports platform, DraftKings leveraged its best-in-class technology, advantageous positioning and extensive knowledge across sports to bring their Sportsbook product to market just a couple months after officially filing for a sports betting license with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

“I am excited to begin this new chapter in our story by officially launching what I believe to be the most innovative, mobile sports betting product in the U.S.,” said Jason Robins, CEO and co-founder of DraftKings. “We have put immense thought and significant resources behind the development of DraftKings Sportsbook and I’m confident that sports fans in New Jersey will enjoy using it to make the experience of watching the games even more interesting and thrilling.”

The launch of DraftKings Sportsbook is the culmination of almost a year of intense preparation, with countless engineering, design, research and development resources all geared towards creating the best and most enjoyable mobile sports betting product for U.S. consumers. Through its unrivaled insight into the habits and preferences of American sports fans, DraftKings has tailored its Sportsbook app and online platform to offer sports fans in New Jersey the ability to place multiple types of bets, including live in-game bets, on major and niche U.S. and international sports. Moreover, DraftKings Sportsbook app and website allows consumers to seamlessly toggle between DraftKings’ Fantasy Sports and Sportsbook platforms, allowing consumers to place their bet and then draft their lineup with one click. Through its partnership with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., announced earlier this year, DraftKings can now offer sports fans in the Garden State the opportunity to place bets.

DraftKings’ introduction of legal online and mobile sports betting begins in New Jersey, but the company is prepared to act in response to future legislative decisions in other states across the country. Earlier this year, DraftKings announced it entered into an agreement to provide a physical sportsbook at the del Lago Resort & Casino located in Waterloo, N.Y which enables both partners to create a mobile and online sports wagering option in the Empire State should legislation authorize online sports wagering.

Sports fans in New Jersey can now place their bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at: sportsbook.draftkings.com

DraftKings Signs Landmark Deal For Sports Betting in New York

Partners With del Lago Resort & Casino in One of the Top Revenue Markets for Industry

BOSTON (July 16, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. and del Lago Resort & Casino announced today that they have entered into an agreement to provide a physical sportsbook at the del Lago Resort & Casino located in Waterloo, N.Y. In addition to partnering together on a retail sportsbook, this agreement also enables both partners to create a mobile and online sports wagering option in the Empire State should legislation authorize online sports wagering.

DraftKings is well positioned to capitalize on the New York market through its industry leading technology and more than 10 million customers. The company began work on its sportsbook product a year ago, immediately following the Supreme Court’s decision to take up New Jersey’s challenge to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act.

“New York is one of the largest revenue opportunities for future sports wagering operators and we are thrilled to partner with del Lago Resort & Casino to offer sports fans a unique and novel sports betting experience, both at a physical sportsbook and on mobile when permitted,” said Jason Robins, CEO and co-founder of DraftKings.

Pending the adoption of a state law authorizing online sports wagering and corresponding regulations, DraftKings plans to leverage its experience in developing popular daily fantasy sports contests to launch a sports betting app along with a web-based platform in the state of New York.

“We see DraftKings as a fantastic and strategic partner in our sportsbook operation at del Lago Resort & Casino, and this deal represents a tremendous move forward for our property in general,” said Brent Stevens, co-chairman of del Lago and CEO of Peninsula Pacific. “Our partnership with DraftKings combines one of the most recognizable brands in sports with the top resort and casino brand in New York and represents an incredibly important moment for gaming in the Upstate region. We look forward to working closely with DraftKings to create a dynamic, engaging and innovative sports betting experience for New Yorkers.”

This is the second sports wagering partnership DraftKings has secured, having announced a similar partnership last month with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., as their licensing partner for online sports betting in that state. DraftKings expects to offer mobile and online sports betting in New Jersey by the start of the NFL season.

DraftKings Serves Up Tennis as New Daily Fantasy Offering

Marks 11th Sport for Expanding Global Sports Entertainment Platform

BOSTON, MA (June 29, 2018) – DraftKings Inc., a leading brand in sports technology and entertainment, continues to bolster its daily fantasy sports vertical with the introduction of fantasy tennis in time for Wimbledon.

“We have always prioritized offering the most compelling games across the widest array of sports,” said Mark Nerenberg, DraftKings’ Vice President of Game Operations and Development. “By expanding into tennis, we have an opportunity to provide a new and engaging experience for our current customer base while broadening our reach to attract tennis fans, globally. Over 25 million people in the U.S. alone tuned in to watch Wimbledon last year1, and we want to be a part of that.”

Tennis has a significant presence in the sports community, with an estimated global following of one billion2 that ranks the sport among the most popular worldwide. Between the growing international market DraftKings has established, and the strong performance of more niche sports on the platform, fantasy tennis is poised to become a favorite among fantasy players.

To play Daily Fantasy Tennis on DraftKings, customers must draft six players while staying under the $50,000 salary cap. All tennis matches are the best of three sets, except for men’s Grand Slam matches, which are the best of five sets. Since DraftKings is combining both men’s and women’s matches in the same contests, scoring will differ depending on the match length. Daily Fantasy Tennis will be available for fans in all the regions where DraftKings operates.*

Leading the Pack, DraftKings Prepares to Enter $150 Billion National Sports Betting Market

Boston, MA (June 11, 2018) – DraftKings Inc. announced today that the company has officially applied for a state license to offer sports betting in New Jersey. Its application for a Casino Service Industry Enterprise License has been “accepted for filing” by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), marking a key step towards licensure and further demonstrating DraftKings’ leadership position in the sports betting market.

“The New Jersey DGE has been on the leading edge of creating a smart, consumer-focused sports betting framework in the Garden State,” said Tim Dent, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Officer at DraftKings. “We are working with New Jersey officials toward a public rollout of a DraftKings sports betting product.”

DraftKings recently announced it selected Resorts Casino Hotel as its New Jersey casino licensing partner, satisfying an expected regulatory requirement for the company to offer an online sports betting product in the state. With plans to leverage its state-of-the-art technology, prominent sports entertainment brand and more than 10 million registered customers, DraftKings is poised to become a major player in the estimated $150 billion sports betting market.

Beginning well before May’s Supreme Court decision, DraftKings has been steadily building a world-class internal sportsbook team. DraftKings also announced today that Karl Gambin has joined the company as Director of New Jersey Gaming Operations based out of its new office in Hoboken, NJ. Gambin will lead DraftKings’ compliance, customer and regulatory activities in the state. The company will continue to expand its local operation and is currently recruiting for a dozen additional positions based in the Hoboken office.

BOSTON, Mass. (June 4, 2018) – DraftKings Inc., the world’s largest daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform, today announced that its DFS product is now live and available in Australia. Starting today, customers in Australia can test their sports knowledge and DFS skills against players locally and from North America and Europe.

We’re confident Australians will enjoy the exciting and innovative competition formats we have available across ten international sports, and their ability to compete against other people, both local and international.”

DraftKings’ Australian expansion is underpinned by its success in North America and Europe and marks the eighth country where DraftKings is available to consumers. The company expects that its soccer product in particular will be popular given Australia’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2018.

About Daily Fantasy Sports

Fantasy sports, both in the traditional season-long and daily or weekly format, are a contest of skill. DFS are similar to season-long fantasy sports with the key exception that the entire contest starts and ends in a much shorter time frame.

Contests range from a single day to one week depending on the sport, and users pick a team of players based on a salary cap and those players earn points based on their in-game performance.

Customers can choose to enter from a full suite of contests made for different skill-levels:

  1. Beginner only contests: Only “beginner and casual customers” can participate.
  2. Casual contests: Available to any user who doesn’t have a Highly Experienced Player (HEP) badge; this is typically acquired when a user plays in 500 contests.

DraftKings Moves to Offer Sports Betting After U.S. Supreme Court Overturns Outdated Ban

Daily Fantasy Sports Giant Poised to Become Major Player in New Market

BOSTON, Mass., May 14, 2018 DraftKings, Inc. announced that the company will enter the sports betting market following the United States Supreme Court’s decision today overturning the outdated Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act.

“Our mission has always been to bring fans closer to the sports they love and now, thanks to the wisdom of the Supreme Court, DraftKings will be able to harness our proven technology to provide our customers with innovative online sports betting products,” said Jason Robins, CEO and co-founder of DraftKings. “This ruling gives us the ability to further diversify our product offerings and build on our unique capacity to drive fan engagement.”

DraftKings is well-positioned to capitalize on sports betting, given that it already runs the world’s largest daily fantasy sports mobile platform that includes stringent consumer protections and transparency for nearly 10 million customers. Even with today’s announcement, DraftKings remains fully committed to its popular daily fantasy sports business, which will continue to be a major focus for the company.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans support legalized sport betting and today’s move lifting this antiquated prohibition also opens the door for greater consumer protections and transparency through online wagering. The addition of online and mobile sports betting holds the potential to generate billions of dollars annually for cash-strapped state governments.

“Today’s Supreme Court ruling is welcome news to the millions of Americans who currently wager $150 billion illegally each year through off-shore, black market bookies,” said Robins. “States are now free to allow their residents to place mobile sports bets with licensed, trusted companies based in the U.S. and that pay taxes here.”

In anticipation of a favorable ruling by the Court, DraftKings has been preparing since 2017 to launch a sports betting platform for mobile, providing another advantage for the company. DraftKings is working with state regulatory officials to apply for operating licenses in those states that have already passed legislation authorizing sports betting.
