DRAFTKINGS AND THE ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE LAUNCH NEW FANTASY SPORTS GAME

The Daily Fantasy Product is Now Live Leading into the AFL Season Kickoff on April 26th

BOSTON, April 22, 2019 – DraftKings and the Arena Football League (AFL) have partnered to launch a new daily fantasy sports game ahead of the AFL’s 2019 season. Customers can now submit contest entries and get even closer to the fast-paced action on the turf that begins April 26th. This AFL offering is the 12th daily fantasy sports category for DraftKings, making the company the leader in available sports among fantasy operators.

“The fast-paced games of the AFL and zeal of its fans will enable a new customer base that loves sports just as much as we do to interact with our products,” said Greg Karamitis, SVP of Fantasy Sports at DraftKings. “The AFL is, and will continue to be, excellent partners in enhancing the entertainment experience for these dedicated fans every weekend for the 2019 season.”

With the AFL expanding its presence from four to six teams in 2019, DraftKings’ data capabilities will source game and player information at every moment of play for fans to leverage in their daily fantasy selections. Customers can enjoy special DraftKings Classic and Showdown modes for AFL contests, constructing lineups of six players while staying within a $50,000 salary cap range and designating a “captain” slot that grants one player a bonus multiplier. Classic contests will require selecting players from more than one game, while Showdown contests must include players from each team.

“We are very excited to be working with DraftKings and know our fans will love playing the fantasy football games DraftKings developed for the AFL,” said Randall Boe, AFL Commissioner. “We want the AFL to be the most innovative league in sports and working with leaders and pioneers like DraftKings is a great fit.”

As football represents the most popular sport on DraftKings, this expansion into Arena Football League daily fantasy contests helps further diversify offerings and address customer demand. To engage with the new product, players can either head to www.draftkings.com or download the DraftKings app via iOS and Android.

DRAFTKINGS TO HOST HIGH-TECH SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR VETERANS AT NEW BOSTON HQ

New England-area service members to receive free classes as part of “Tech for Heroes” initiative

BOSTON, April 11, 2019 – DraftKings will host its third Tech for Heroes training in Boston, providing local recent and returning veterans and spouses with free, comprehensive, high-tech job skills training starting in front end web development. The Boston session, kicking off on April 22nd, is the third DraftKings has held in Boston. The company has also held trainings for veterans in Austin and San Francisco.

“Building on the success of the Tech for Heroes program last year, we’re excited to be bringing the training back to our hometown for a third time and hosting the course in our new headquarters,” said Paul Liberman, DraftKings Co-Founder and COO. “It’s truly an honor help train the men and women in Massachusetts who have served valiantly, as it helps us continue to build an even stronger connection to our local community.”

Working in partnership with the national nonprofit VetsinTech, the two-week training in Boston will be taught by a certified instructor from Galvanize at DraftKings’ new state-of-the-art headquarters. The initiative will focus on teaching veterans and military spouses web development skills, and upon completion, students will receive certified proficiency through Galvanize. DraftKings employees will also work with the veterans to grow their understanding of employment opportunities at high-tech companies and to further support the veteran graduates pursuing careers in tech through mentoring.

“Our team works so hard to train our country’s servicemembers and their families to allow them to find jobs in today’s world, and the Tech for Heroes program is proving that this mission is worth the effort,” said VetsinTech founder Katherine Webster. “Seeing the growth and hearing the feedback of the veteran community in Austin, as well as so many others last year, has inspired our team to assist DraftKings in achieving their goals to even greater heights.”

In the remainder of the year, DraftKings will expand the Tech for Heroes program to multiple cities across the U.S., training 100 veterans or military spouses. For additional information on the DraftKings Tech for Heroes program and to inquire about joining a class, please visit DraftKings Tech for Heroes.
